February 29 Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy??Do they make cages for children? Will I get in trouble if I make one and use it? Hmmmm?
My grandson is here 5 days a week, day and night. I love him dearly but the boy is going to drive me to an early grave, or at the very least, a mental institution.
I got out of the shower today to find my front door open (so he knows how to unlock both the dead bolt and the door lock) I'm wrapped in a towel, and trying to stay behind the door as much as possible, I'm calling his name.
My neighbor, who drives truck, long haul, and who I never see... pulls up and notices me. He asked if everything was OK? I told him Dekeon had gotten out and I couldn't see him. He offered to look for him while I got dressed.
Same day, but later that afternoon, Dek opens the door to let one of the cats out and he takes off too. I did have clothes on, and ran after him. He changes direction and runs into the house... and locks me out.
Good thing I had left the back door unlocked.
He tries to get out at night, saying he WANTS the boogie man to get him.
He has no fear, but scares the crap outta me with his antics.
He reminds me of my brothers, and my sister says he's just like her twins (heaven help us all).
I WAS going to say, that my boys never did things like that, but, then, a memory pops into my head... We lived in Eastern Idaho, out in the country. There was a big canal that ran in front of our house.
I got out of the shower, dressed and went outside to check on the kids, only to find that my neighbors and people I didn't know were busy fighting a fire on the other side of the canal so it wouldn't jump over to our front yard.
My younger son and his friend had been playing with firecrackers. The firecrackers started the grasses on fire and instead of pouring water on the fire, they added lighter fluid... not too smart eh?
So, I guess I can't say my kids never did things that scared me/drove me crazy/made me want to kill them...
I'm thinking... "Kiddy Cage" or "Kiddy Run" (think dog run for kids) or, hooking him up to one of those exercise machines that they put horses on that walk them around and around in circles... but, I'll resize it and label it as the newest cure for obese, or ADD children... I think I'll make a fortune! lol Well, maybe not...
As it goes now, he's going to be doing "time out" till he's 40! BIG HUGS, Steph February 27 Caught? We have one grocery store in our little town. It's a major chain, and charges an arm and a leg for things, but, it's the only game in town... Unless you "go over the hill" towards Boise.
One chain has a store that's about a 20 minute drive, and the prices are usually almost half of what I pay in town.
Yesterday I was in our town's grocery store, and the man in charge of the Butcher Block says, Hi, and asks where the heck I've been. He hasn't seen me in a long time.
I told him I've been busy with my 3 yr old Grandson and haven't been out much.
He looks at me and says, "You've been going to "XYZ" haven't you?"
I was honest and told him, yes, actually I have. I gave him some examples of price differences, but assured him that I still tried to shop the sales here in town...
So tell me, why do I feel like I've been caught cheating on him?? lol BIG HUGS, Steph February 22 I'm no longer a virgin! That's right people, I've lost my virginity! Now, before you start laughing, choking, coughing or get that look of total disbelief on your face... let me clarify...
I've lost my "McDonald's Big Mac" virginity.
Yep, in the 40.... something years of my life, I've never had a Big Mac, until today.
I've never been a huge fan of McDonald's, but I will say it was better than I expected.

Why is Bank of America raising it's interest rates on it's good customers?
BusinessWeek has just published an article about Bank of America's recent surprise mailings in January to some of its customers, announcing "that it would more than double their rates to as high as 28%, without giving an explanation for the increase." These customers have good credit scores and hadn't made any late payments, and those who called Bank of America to ask why this was happening weren't given clear reasons. Industry experts say Bank of America has reached a "new level" of "lack of transparency in raising rates," beyond anything Citigroup and JP Morgan Chase currently practice, because BoA is apparently using some undisclosed internal metric to determine who gets the rate hike.
The easiest explanation is that BoA is just trying to get rid of customers who don't make them any money, usually by carrying extremely low balances or no balance at all. But the anecdotal evidence suggests otherwise: Michael Jordan, 25, a software developer who lives in Higganum, Conn., says he received a letter from Bank of America in late January advising him that his card rate would rise from 9.99% to 24.99%. The software developer, who earns $80,000 per year, says he was "shocked" because his payments had been on time and his credit score hadn't changed in the last year. In fact, Jordan says, he has only $4,500 in overall outstanding credit-card debt on two cards and that, on the Bank of America card in question, he had paid down his balance to $3,000 from $3,700 last August. Some analysts think the bank might simply be trying to shore up profits in anticipation of dealing with the "profit sinkhole" that is Countrywide Financial and the anticipated rise in charge-offs and write-downs as the economy continues to falter. "Boosting rates on existing credit-card holders is one of the quickest levers a bank can pull to try to boost earnings," says one analyst.

February 12 WordsI've always loved reading, and words.
I have favorite words,... one of which is, plethora... (sigh) I love that word. lol
I also like ennui. I love how it sounds and how it feels saying it. (OK, I'm weird, but you already knew that!)
The latest word that has me fascinated is, redacted. Don't ask me why, but I love it!
(You've probably guessed, I got nuthin again. The snow is melting, but it's still cold.)
Come on, Spring! BIG HUGS, Steph February 06 Come again?I got nothin...
It's still cold, there's still snow on the ground, and more is on it's way.
I feel like a broken record... which makes me think. How much longer can we actually use that phrase before the person we are speaking to has no idea what it means?
